How to Adjust or Turn off Keyboard Repeat on macOS Big Sur [Tutorial]

On your Intel-based Mac, use the Keyboard pane of Keyboard System Preferences to change options for keyboard and function keys and for keyboard backlighting. If your Mac has a Touch Bar, you can change options for the behavior of the Touch Bar and the Fn key on the keyboard.

If you press and hold certain keyboard keys when in a text area, the key’s character begins to repeat. For example, the Delete key continues to remove text for as long as you hold it down.

You can set how long you must hold down the key before it starts repeating and how fast it repeats once it starts.

This tutorial will apply for MacBook Pro, Air, Mini's running the macOS operating system. This tutorial was performed on a macOS Big Sur system.
