How To Transfer Data From Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 / S10 Ultra To External Storage:
You can back up your Galaxy Tab S10 to any external storage including an SD Card, external hard Drive or USB Flash Drive. For the SD Card, you will first need to insert it into the SD card slot in the Tab. If you just want to use the SD card outside the Tab, you can use an adapter, like the one from Anker (linked above).
For the hard disk or flash disk, you will need to use an OTG adapter. However, the back up will be similar for all the storage devices.
Step 1: Connect a USB-C OTG adapter or USB-C hub (link above) to your Samsung Galaxy Tab S10. This is if you have an external storage device with the traditional USB cable.
If you have the modern storage devices with USB-C, then you should be good to go without the adapter.
Step 2: Plug in the external storage device to the OTG adapter or USB-C hub. Your tab should automatically detect the device in the notifications panel.
Step 3: Launch the Settings app on your tab, scroll through the left-hand side panel and select "Accounts and Backup".
Step 4: Under Accounts and Backup, select the "External Storage Transfer" option, under the 'Smart Switch' category. This option allows you to back up data to a USB storage device or an SD Card, and restore it later on this device or another device using Smart Switch.
Step 5: Once your external storage device is detected, select it from the list under the 'Back Up To' section. The storage device will start searching for data to back up.
Step 6: Choose the data you want backed up. Choose "Everything", "Just Calls, Contacts, and Messages" or "Custom" to choose them manually. Once you do, tap on "Next".
Step 7: Tap OK to consent to your data being backed up and encrypted using your Samsung account. This means that you will need your Samsung credentials when restoring your data.
Depending on the file size and number of files, the transfer process may take some time. Check the 'Keep Screen On' option to glance at the progress.
Step 8: Once the transfer is complete, it’s crucial to safely eject the external storage device to avoid data corruption. Tap on the device in the My Files app to open the contents and tap on the three dots in the top-right corner. Select the "Unmount" option.
You can also swipe down to reveal the notifications panel, where you'll see the "USB Storage Added" notification. Tap on the drop-down arrow next to it, and select "Unmount" from the options.
Step 9: Unplug the OTG adapter and external storage device.
