I had to slightly edit this video.

Since a lot of people asked me how to play The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth 2 in widescreen, and i got tired of answering, here is a quick info/tutorial how to do it by installing the mod, or newest Patch. Easy stuff.

A bit of warning, from my experience!
I don't know about the nvidia, but If you have ATI Graphics Card connected to your Full HD Monitor by VGA/D-Sub cable, and if you have Windows 7 or 8 (probably Vista too), and you forced FullHD, WUXGA resolution in Graphics Card Drivers on those systems, then most probably you won't be able to set those resolutions in the game. If i understand this correctly it's kind of a (vista, 7, 8) Windows system fault, Microsoft changed something, and drivers doesn't work as they work in XP. Everything works like a charm on XP.
I was able to workaround this in "window supporting" games such as Titan Quest, which lets you play in window or in full-screen.
But BFME2 don't have this option, and even "cheating" with software like D3D Windower or dxwnd doesn't do a thing. It just doesn't work. You can specify 1920x1080 in options.ini file, but the game will run in 800x600 if your monitor is connected through VGA cable and you forced FHD res in drivers. So... even though Windows is running in FHD, BFME2 will not.

Update on this subject.
I now have Nvidia GF GT 640, and this game on this card (and nvidia drivers) is working correctly.
I don't know if AMD updated their drivers to correct above mentioned problem, but on Nvidia it workds correctly.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @ 3GHz
MOBO: Gigabyte EP43-DS3L
GPU: ATI Radeon HD4650 connected through VGA/D-SUB cable to
LCD: HP 2335 (dvi is broken)
Windows XP. WUXGA resolution forced in Catalyst Drivers. Games work properly.
Windows 8. WUXGA resolution forced in Catalyst Drivers. Limited resolution support in games. If i remember correctly its the same in Vista and 7.
