There are lots of chemicals you should avoid when cleaning a nickle plated CPU OR GPU water block because the nickle plating is so thin it can be stripped. Copper is less worrying and you can use all of these acidic chemicals however to remove oxidation corrosion or gunk from nickle plated water blocks we need to try and keep the acidity away as much as possible.
