A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings that manages how computers use and conserve power. A power plan is also known as a power scheme. You can create custom power plans that are optimized for specific computers.

Power Plan is a collection of all hardware and system settings that manages the power utilization in your computer. Windows operating system allows you to create your own custom power plan and personalize it according to your choice. Creating a new plan is important because you can set your own power preferences and at the same time does not alter the default settings like Balanced, Recommended, High Performance power plans. The process of creating a custom power plan is simple and has been discussed in the following tutorial. There are several processes of accessing the power plan settings, via Control panel, Settings, Command prompt.

On Windows 10, a power plan is nothing more than a set of system and hardware settings to manage how your device consumes and conserves power. By default, you can pick from three predefined plans (or schemes), including Balanced, Power saver, and High performance.

Although you can modify each plan with your preferences, you can also create custom power plans with specific settings that are optimized for your particular computer configuration.
