In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through creating a stretched resolution for gaming using NVIDIA Control Panel. Stretched resolutions are popular in competitive gaming for better visibility and performance. This works for games like Fortnite, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Valorant, Apex Legends, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, Call of Duty: Warzone, Rocket League, and Battlefield series.
Steps to Create a Stretched Resolution:
Open NVIDIA Control Panel: Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel from the context menu.
Access Display Settings: Navigate to the Display section on the left-hand panel and select Change Resolution.
Create Custom Resolution:
Click on Customize and then check the box for Enable resolutions not exposed by the display.
Click Create Custom Resolution and set your desired resolution (e.g., 1440x1080).
Adjust Scaling Settings:
Go to Adjust Desktop Size and Position in the Display menu.
Select Full-Screen Scaling under the scaling options.
Set the Perform scaling on: option to GPU.
Check the box for Override the scaling mode set by games and programs.
Apply and Test: Save your custom resolution and apply it. Launch your game and select the new resolution in the game settings.
