Steps:

- Start by opening the messages app, compose a new message like normal and add your first contact by tapping the plus icon and selecting them. Then for the second and every other person you want to add to the group text, simply press the plus button again and add them to your contacts.

- When you send a message it will create a group text with the selected contacts.

- In order to give the group a custom name or profile image, all of the group participants will have to have iMessage, so they will need an iPhone, iPad or Mac.

- To name the group, tap the ‘info’ button at the top of the chat thread.

- If everyone in the group has imessage then there will be an option at the top to ‘change name and photo’.

- You can then choose the name for your group and add a custom photo or emoji.
