How to Create Mesh on TP-Link Archer C80 AC1900 Wireless Router? | Set Up Mesh Network on TP-Link!
The TP-Link Archer C80 AC1900 Wireless Router does not natively support OneMesh or any proprietary mesh technology like TP-Link's modern mesh routers do (e.g., Archer AX series or Deco Mesh systems). However, you can still create a mesh-like Wi-Fi network using alternative methods:
A Mesh Network is a wireless networking system that consists of multiple interconnected nodes (devices) working together to provide seamless Wi-Fi coverage throughout a space. Instead of relying on a single router, a mesh system uses a main router and several satellite nodes or access points to distribute Wi-Fi across an area.
How Mesh Networks Work
The main router connects to the internet modem.
Satellite nodes (additional mesh units) are placed around the home or office to extend the Wi-Fi signal.
These nodes communicate with each other and the main router, forming a single, unified Wi-Fi network with the same SSID (Wi-Fi name) and password.
Devices like phones or laptops automatically switch to the nearest node with the strongest signal as you move around.
Benefits of a Mesh Network
Seamless Roaming: Devices stay connected to the network without drops or interruptions as you move around.
Wider Coverage: Eliminates Wi-Fi dead zones by extending signals to all corners of your home or office.
Unified Network: Only one SSID (Wi-Fi name) and password for the entire network.
Self-Healing: If one node fails, the other nodes reroute the traffic to maintain connectivity.
Scalability: Easily add more nodes to expand coverage.
When to Use a Mesh Network
Large Homes or Offices: Ideal for spaces with multiple floors or thick walls that block signals.
Wi-Fi Dead Zones: Helps eliminate areas with poor connectivity.
Smart Home Setup: Supports multiple smart devices like cameras, lights, and thermostats.
Seamless Roaming: Necessary when you require uninterrupted internet for activities like streaming or video calls while moving around.
