Steps:
- To start with go to Drive.Google.com and locate the file or folder you want to share.
- Now right click the file or folder and a menu will popup.
- Select ‘get shareable link’.
- This URL can be copied and shared with people. It's currently set to restricted meaning only people you’ve added can access it, but if you click the down arrow beside restricted you can choose the option ‘anyone with a link’ and that will allow anyone who has the URL to be able to load the file.
- I'll just test that by loading that url in a different web browser where i'm not even logged into a google account and as you can see im able to view the document but not edit it.
- If you want to allow people to edit it then go back to the link sharing options and where it says ‘viewer’ click the dropdown arrow and then choose editor.
- If i reload that link now on the other browser i can freely edit the document.
- You can revoke public access to your file or folder at any time by changing the link options back to restricted. Then when people load the URL they will need to login to their google account, and if you haven't allowed their account to view it , they will be able
