Learn how to deactivate your Instagram account from your Android device.

Deactivating is temporarily disabling your Instagram account. When you disable your account temporarily, your profile, photos, comments and likes will be hidden from other users until you reactivate your account.

Currently, the Instagram app does not support temporary disabling of your account.

Go to instagram.com from your mobile browser.
Tap on your username and select 'Edit profile'
Tap 'Temporarily disable my account' in the bottom right and follow the on-screen instructions.
