How to Enable a Clock Time with Seconds in the Windows 11 [Guide]

Is the clock in the Windows taskbar able to show seconds? Not historically, but it’s been a debate within Microsoft for many years — a debate that has now been put to rest with a recent update for Windows 11. Now, you can opt to show seconds in your taskbar’s clock.

On Windows 11, you can show seconds in the System Tray clock available from the Taskbar.

Although the ability to show seconds has always been present in some form through the System Tray and Notification Center, on Windows 11, Microsoft introduced a redesigned version of Taskbar that removed many of the classic functionalities, including the option to show seconds.

However, starting on build 25247 and higher releases, Windows 11 is reverting some of the original changes for the Taskbar, and it’s now bringing back seconds to clock, among other classic functionalities.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung.
