I case it is not working - you can use another method:
Go to Steam/Library, then right click on Panzer Dragoon: Remake and click properties, then click controller, and go to controller general setting at the top
You will see then controller setting menu appear.
Choose xbox configuration support or playstation configuration support, done
Also make sure your detented controller is shown
