How To Find A Paid Modder To Install, Adjust Loot, Events & Structures On Your DayZ Community Server

In this video I talk about the issues involved, and what you should think about if you're considering paying a third party to install, mod or add custom builds to your DayZ Community Server for PC, PlayStation or Xbox Consoles, or if you want a custom Discord set up.
Ash has asked me to mention that he specialises in Console Modding, not PC Modding.
Please note that this is not about creating custom PC Steam Workshop mods.
Please read my notes below.
When Considering Using A Paid Modding Service To Start Up A Community Server:
-Do you really need your own Community Server? Why not just join an existing one (or more than one!). Servers require maintenance and communities require an awful lot of moderations. It’s very difficult to create a new Server that will have a large population.
-You can learn how to create custom XML server files (loot / events) and json spawn files (structures) relatively easily yourself. There’s plenty of free resources to learn how to do it, and / or templates and ready-made files, eg my videos & boosted loot files.
-Paying someone to create your Server is not a one-off cost - DayZ is regularly updated, so you will either need to learn how to do it yourself, or pay out more to have the latest files, features and loot.
-Even if you find the best, perfect Modder for your needs there always can be confusion and disputes - you might not get exactly what you want and there could be ongoing disputes.
-I would suggest that if you’re determined to go ahead with using a paid modding service, use it as a quick start way to get into Community Server ownership, to get you set-up and started, and then you must learn how to do it yourself, so you’re not relying on other people long-term.
-Spend plenty of time looking at what people have to say about the service you’re considering using. DM previous users to and get their honest opinions.
-Ask the service how they handle disputes and if there’s been some misunderstandings how they sort them out.
-Set yourself a budget that’s affordable and reasonable. Remember you’ll also have the cost of renting your server.
-Create a clear comprehensive list of what you want from your server. Write it like a to-do list. (See my example). Once you’ve written it, read it again. Wait a day, review it again, make changes, then submit it to the modding service.
-If a quote is too expensive, it’s ok to walk away, but do consider the time it will take for the service to deliver what you want.
-If going ahead, be clear about how long it will take, and what the process is. Only release money when you are completely happy!
Thanks, Rob.
