Let me show you how to EASILY fix the drive!
Hopefully your problem would be the same as mine, but i cannot promise it would actually work for you. This all depends if the problem you are experiencing is the same as i did.
In my case it was only the screw that is used to manually eject disc's in case you don't have any power available on the Playstation 4.
For some reason it seemed like that was the cause of my drive not fully functioning.
I do NOT know why, but turning this screw in the opposite way as i would should i eject a disc solved my problem.
I would suspect this being a problem for others too..

I have had the issue for over a year and honestly i thought the drive was malfunctioning. Refusing to buy a new console, i prepared myself to open it up and try to fix it. BUT the solution was simpler than i anticipated 😂
