How To Fix winseven.exe Drive Not Ready Error In Windows. The drive is not ready for use.

“The drive is not ready for use: its door may be open. Please check drive A: and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the door is closed.”

This error just means that Windows is looking for a floppy disc drive on your computer, but you do not have one installed or it’s not connected internally inside your computer case.

1. Check your drive A (3.5 floppy disc drive) to see if it’s detected on your computer. Just double-click the “My Computer” icon on the Windows desktop and see if it’s listed with your other devices.

2. In order to disable Windows from looking for the device, you need to login to your computer’s BIOS settings on the motherboard. There will be an option to “disable” the floppy disc drive. Save your BIOS settings and then restart your computer.

3. The “Drive Not Ready” error messages should be gone.

NOTE: Refer to your motherboard or PC manufacturer’s documentation on how to get into your BIOS settings. On most PC’s, you need to press the “F2” or “Delete” key on your keyboard during your system startup process.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems.Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung).
