HOW TO GET ALL 10 OF DAVE'S C'S OF SURVIVABILITY FOR $10
7The idea from this challenge was to take the philosophy of Dave's 10 c's of survivability and apply it to the items sold at my local Dollar Tree store, and also as another parameter try and limit my self to a budget of only $10.
Though this challenge was fun to hunt these purposeful items that could potentially save your life, it brought a new alignment as to the traditional survival kit and gives it an urban appeal. As most of us know the future is unexpected and being stranded in an urban environment or caught in an urban environment during a SHTF situation, knowing you can easily meet those basic needs at almost any store, and for as low as $10 is pretty comforting.
As Dollar Tree stores are all over North America, the items might not be the exact same everywhere. That is why I would like for you to share any substitutions or replacements that you come across or put in your budget kit in the comment section below. I know most bushcraft and survival channels focus mostly on nature, but I thought applying these necessary survivability principles to an urban environment would be both practical and fun to prepare.
Another thing to note is something I thought up in post. The magnets in the shower curtain can be used to magnetize your needle for your natural compass. Be sure to understand how to identify polarity on the curtain magnets, before attempting to magnetize your needle.

The 10 C’s are not a comprehensive list for packing a survival kit. Instead, you can think of the 10 C’s as forming the core foundation of a standard survival kit for any environment. All items featured in this video can obviously be upgraded well beyond this budget basic kit.
