Follow the steps below to get Xbox audio through headset only and not TV:
1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the menu. In the menu scroll right and select System.
2. Once in System, select Settings
3. In the Settings under the General section, select Volume & audio output.
4. Under the Speaker Audio, ensure sure you have the correct audio output options select for your setup.
- TV connected to Xbox One via HDMI without optical audio cable: Under HDMI audio select Off
- TV connected to Xbox One via HDMI with optical audio cable: Under Optical audio select Off.
5. Under the Headset Audio, ensure sure you have an option selected so that audio plays through your headset.
5. Close the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S settings and then see if this has fixed your audio issues.
