Greetings everyone! Today I'm going to be showing you guys how to boost your fps from those sub-60's to as far as the high 100's! All gameplay was captured at 1440p, not 1080p. Also note that if it doesn't work for you then it's probably the fault of your specs. Don't be expecting miracles when you're running a PC from 2006...

I'm having a lot of fun with Fallout 4 lately, I thought I would make an fps guide, like I usually do, to help those who are less fortunate out. Breathe some life back into your GTX 760!... or whatever you have. This tutorial includes all things currently on the internet that will help improve your fps. You will notice the quality isn't the best with text, I will release an updated video which I will link here to fix that issue.

Steps :

1. Install latest drivers (linked above).
2. [Low end PCs] Download performance tweak file.
3. Turn off V-sync in control panel (Nvidia cards).

4. Uncap FPS :
a) Head to [documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini]
b) Find ‘iPresentInterval=1’ and change '1' to '0'.
c) Do the same in:
- [C:\Users\Dom\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4]
- [C:\Users\Dom\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Custom]
- [steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4\ Fallout4prefs.ini]
d) Click save button.
e) Set file as 'read only' in properties.

5. Turn off shadows :
a) Head to [documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini]
b) Find 'iShadowMapResolution=2058' and change '2058' to '8'.
c) Click save button.
d) Set file as 'read only' in properties.

6. Upgrade to windows 10. [Optional]
7. Put Fallout on an SSD. [Optional]
8. Launch game and tweak launcher settings.

9. Set priority :
a) Launch into game, then load up task manager.
b) Go to details and find Fallout 4.
c) Right click and set priority to 'high', then apply.

10. To avoid stuck on terminal bug :
a) Right click on desktop.
b) Click 'display settings' then 'advanced display settings'.
c) Click 'display adapter properties'.
d) A window will pop up, click the monitor tab.
e) Change refresh rate from 144Hz to 100Hz.
f) Disable G-sync in Nvidia control panel if bug persists.

If none of this worked then it's your PC/laptop. In this case you will have to upgrade or buy a new computer. This really did take a little while to make, finding everything and whatnot.
