In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how to install an application specifically for a single user on a Windows PC. This method ensures the app is available only for the intended user account.
Applications in Windows 11 typically install into the default Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder on the C drive. During the installation process, most applications prompt users to create a folder in one of these directories. However, you also have the option to change the installation location, meaning you’re not restricted to the C drive.
For Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps, you can relocate them to a different drive after installation, providing flexibility for storage management. When installing desktop applications, if you prefer to make the app available for a single user, you only need to adjust the installation path during setup.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 11 & Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Samsung).
