How To Enable EPEL Repository in RHEL/CentOS 7/6

(Make sure you must be root user).

Step1 :- su

Step2 :- wget http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/...

Step3 :- rpm -ivh epel-release-7-5.noarch.rpm

How Do I Verify EPEL Repo?

Step4 :-yum repolist


Installation of Glances in Linux/Unix Systems

On RHEL/CentOS/Fedora

Step5 :- yum install -y glances

On Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint

Step6 :- sudo apt-add-repository ppa:arnaud-hartmann/glances-stable

Step7 :- sudo apt-get update
Step8 :- sudo apt-get install glances

To start,
glances


Step9 :- Press ‘q‘ or (‘ESC‘ or ‘Ctrl&C‘ also works) to quit from Glances terminal


By default, interval time is set to ‘1‘ second

Step10 :- sudo glances -t 2




Glances Color Codes

Meaning of Glances color code:


GREEN: OK (everything is fine)

BLUE: CAREFUL (need attention)

VIOLET: WARNING (alert)

RED: CRITICAL (critical)





By default thresholds set is (careful=50, warning=70 and critical=90)

The default configuration file is located at


Step11 :- sudo nano /etc/glances/glances.conf’.


Use Glances on Remote Systems


Step12 :- sudo glances -s
