You Can also try in Ubuntu 14.04,14.10,15.04 (32/64 bits), or Debian 7 (64 bits) or Xubuntu 14.10 or Lubuntu 14.10 & Linux Mint 17.

Step1 :- sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/stable-daily

Step2 :- sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc
