How to Make a MacOS Monterey Bootable Installer USB Drive
You can make a macOS Monterey bootable installer drive.
You will need the full MacOS Monterey installer application, found within the /Applications folder on the Mac. You can download the installer from:
https://osxdaily.com/2021/10/25/macos-monterey-released-download-now/
You will also need a USB flash thumb drive that is at least 16GB.
Quit out of the installer.
Open the Terminal and enter the following command, replacing the "MontereyUSB" drive name to match the USB drive name you wish to turn into the installer flash drive:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Monterey.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MontereyUSB --nointeraction
Hit return, and then wait a while.
When finished you can use the MacOS Monterey boot installer to boot from, or install directly from the drive.
