Forcibly quitting out of apps on iPad has changed slightly in iOS 11, but that's mostly due to the fact that the app switcher has changed in iOS 11, and you can now access the app switcher on iPad by swiping up to reveal the Dock from any app too. But the mechanics for quitting largely remain the same:

- Double-click on the Home button of iPad, or swipe up from the bottom of the iPad screen to access the App Switcher

- Swipe up on the app you wish to quit, repeat with additional apps to forcibly quit them too

- Exit out of the app switcher when finished
