This is mostly deprecated now since KDEnlive supports a new Alpha Channel section of render options. You should probably just select those I guess.

Q: My KDEnlive install isn't working on [distro], should I install a new one?
A: Make sure you're on the latest KDEnlive version, after that, try a different install method (I recommend appimage, but Flatpak will likely work as well). It's possible you're missing an important library that KDEnlive needs and using a containerized version of it may help.

Q: My proxy clips aren't rendering with transparency no matter what I do. Why?
A: Uwe Schroeder has pointed out in the comments that proxy clips DO NOT SUPPORT AN ALPHA CHANNEL. You will need to turn off the proxy for parts you need transparency in.

I couldn't find anyone who knew how to do this, so I put on the big boy pants and messed up a bunch until I found out how to do it right.
