Did your /Users root folder disappear after updating OS X 10.9.3? It turns out the /Users folder is still there, it has not been deleted, it's just invisible now by default causing it to become hidden. Don't worry, you can change that, as this brief video shows how to make that root /User directory visible again by using the Terminal app and the chflags command.
