How To Insert Cursor Inside Text On Keyboard Of Samsung Phone:
Method 1: Use the Spacebar as a Touchpad
Samsung’s keyboard comes with a handy feature that allows you to move the text cursor by swiping across the spacebar.
Step 1: Open any app where you can type (Messages, Notes, WhatsApp, etc.). Type a sentence or word.
Step 2: To move the cursor, press and hold the spacebar. Without lifting your finger, slide left or right across the spacebar to move the cursor horizontally.
Some versions of Samsung Keyboard also allow vertical movement by sliding up or down. This method is ideal for correcting typos or inserting text in the middle of a sentence.
Step 3: If this isn't working, ensure you've enabled cursor control. To enable it, go to Settings on your Samsung phone. Tap "General Management" and choose "Samsung Keyboard settings".
Step 4: Tap on "Swipe, Touch, and Feedback", under "Samsung Keyboard Settings". Select "Cursor Control". You should now be able to use the spacebar as a touchpad to move your cursor accurately.
Method 2: Enable the "Cursor Control" Feature
Some versions of Samsung Keyboard offer a dedicated cursor control layout.
Step 1: To enable it, go to Settings on your Samsung phone. Tap "General Management" and choose "Samsung Keyboard settings".
Step 2: Look for "Keyboard Swipe Controls" and ensure "Cursor Control" is selected. With this enabled, slide your finger across the keyboard to move the cursor. You can also tap the Shift key and slide to select text.
Step 3: Swipe across the keyboard (not just the spacebar) to move the cursor.
Method 3: Tap to Move (Less Precise)
If you're not using any of the above methods, you can still tap the text field to place the cursor, but it's not as precise—especially in longer paragraphs.
If you have a Samsung device with an S Pen (like a Galaxy Note or Galaxy S Ultra model), using the pen can give you even more accuracy when placing the cursor in the text.
