How To Install iOS 26 On iPhone:
Option 1: Using An Apple Developer Account
Step 1: Ensure your iPhone is one of the supported devices. iOS 26 Beta 1 is compatible with the iPhone 16 Series, iPhone 15 / 15 Plus / 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series and iPhone SE (2nd generation and newer).
If you're unsure about compatibility, check Apple’s official iOS 26 compatibility list (available through a developer account).
Step 2: Enroll in the Apple Developer Program. Go to developer.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Join the Developer Program (cost: $99/year).
Ensure that your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network to download the iOS 26 update files. Additionally, make sure your device is connected to a power source or has sufficient battery life to complete the installation process.
Step 3: Update Your iPhone profile by going to the Settings app and selecting "General". Here, tap on "Software Update". Make sure you're running the latest version of iOS.
Step 4: Tap on "Beta Updates". It may be set to "Off" by default. Choose "iOS 26 Developer Beta" and tap the 'Back' button. Your iPhone will check for the iOS 26 Beta 1 update.
Step 5: Tap on "Update Now" or "Update Tonight" to proceed. Ensure you have the capacity required to install the iOS 26 Developer Beta (Upwards of 8 GB).
Step 6: Enter your iPhone passcode to proceed with the download, prepare and install the update. Be patient as the process continues as it may take a long time for the iPhone to eventually restart to complete the installation.
Step 7: After a successful installation, swipe up on the 'Hello' screen and enter your passcode. Then, tap on "Continue".
Option 2: Without a Developer Account (When Public Beta Becomes Available)
Apple typically releases a Public Beta version a few weeks after the Developer Beta.
Step 1: Once available, visit beta.apple.com on your iPhone. Sign in with your Apple ID and enroll your device.
Step 2: Follow the instructions to install the iOS 26 Public Beta profile.
Step 3: Go to the Settings app and select "General". Here, choose the "Software Update" and install the beta.
Revert to iOS 18 (If Needed)
If things get too buggy, you can downgrade back to iOS 18 using these steps:
Step 1: Put your iPhone into Recovery Mode. Connect it to a Mac or PC with Apple Devices app.
Step 2: Choose "Restore", and select an iOS 18 IPSW file. Restore from your backup when prompted.
