How to Open a PS3 Slim to Replace Thermal Paste, Change Battery, & Clean Dust | disassembly teardown
49This tutorial shows how to tear down a PlayStation 3 CECH-3001A (also referred to as CECH-30xxA), in order to get to the CPU and GPU in order to remove and do a replacement of the thermal paste on both chips. You can also use this video to change your PRAM CR2032 Battery that's on the motherboard, as well as getting to all the areas to remove any dust that has accumulated. In the video I disassemble (open) and reassemble (put back together) the unit, showing where the screws are at. I don't go over how to delid, but this video shows how to get yourself into position to do it.
