Quick and Simple Explanation: Go to the F2 Menu, click on your unit/structure, scroll down to "texmods." Click on the tab to the right of "texmods" and a dropdown menu will appear. And there is all the different camo/skins available that you can choose for the specific unit/structure.

Hey guys it’s NukeConnon here and welcome to a Men of War Assault Squad 2 GEM Editor Tutorial! Today I am going to show you guys how to put camouflage on vehicles, infantry, and certain structures in the GEM Editor.

This is something I wish I had known how to do when I first got this game around two years ago. Depending on the map, the corresponding camouflage makes your units fit in more with the map and also makes your GEM Editor battle more immersive as compared to just using the default skin. Winter camo for a winter map, desert camo for a desert map, jungle camo for a jungle map, etc.

When you first place down a unit, it spawns with its default skin as shown here with these units and structures. If your using a typical summer map, then the default camo will usually do. But if you are in a desert or winter map, you will want to change your unit’s camo accordingly to fit in with the environment as best as possible for realism.

So, how exactly do you add camouflage onto your units and structures? First, press F2 on the keyboard to go to the F2 menu if you are not there already. The F2 menu looks like the menu I am on right now. The left click the unit you want to apply camo on. A white circle and a line corresponding with the direction the unit is facing should appear underneath the unit. A menu will pop up to your right where you can edit the unit’s various traits. Scroll down until you see the tab that says “texmods.” Click on the empty tab to the right and a dropdown menu will appear. Number 1 is usually winter camo but it can be different for certain units. Number 2 is usually summer camo. “D” stands for desert camo. “Win” stands for winter camo. Each individual unit has different sets of camo. Some individual units have their own unique camo.

All infantry units of all vanilla nations have their default summer camo, winter camo, and desert camo.

However, for guns and vehicles, lots of units don’t have camo for all environments. Almost all American vehicles and guns have winter camo but only a select few have desert camo. The Germans boast the most different types of camo. Almost all of their guns and vehicles have winter camo, desert camo, and a forest summer camo on top of their steel gray default skin. Almost all British vehicles have winter camo but only some have desert camo. British guns don’t have as much camo available to them. Almost all soviet vehicles and guns have winter camo but none of them have designated body desert camo. Most Japanese vehicles and guns only have their default skin. Only some vehicles and guns have jungle and winter camo. Japan has no designated desert camo too. Japan is the only country that has designated winter camo for the vehicles that can apply jungle camo.

Many vehicle and gun skins only applies to the tracks or wheels of the unit.

Now let’s put the camo onto the vehicles. This is a snow map, so let’s put snow camo on the units that have snow camo. Some units do not have snow camo or only have snow camo for their wheels or tracks as shown.

You can apply the camo onto a group of units by selecting a group of units and selecting the intended camo in the menu. To revert the unit skin to the default skin, go to the menu and click the blank tab in the drop down menu, usually at the top of the dropdown list. You do the same thing for switching camo. Just select a different skin and it will change to a different skin.
