How To Ranch Bammoths With Automation In ONI: Spaced Out! Sandbox Showcase #34
12Welcome to Sandbox Showcase! In this series, I talk about various problems in Oxygen Not Included and how I've solved them with my own designs in previous streamed and non-streamed runs, by building them in Sandbox mode.
In this video, I talk about how to set up Bammoth Ranches using automation to allow new Bammoths to be dropped automatically into ranches without Duplicants having to move them around with droppers. This design is an adaptation of the previous Flox ranch design ( • How To Ranch Floxes With Automation I... ) that accounts for the Bammoth's unique movement options and food types.
Bammoths are a highly critter-efficient source of Meat for Barbeque and Pemmican production, provided you can feed them cold Ethanol based plants/foods. Additionally, their Bammoth Patties provide significant Clay and Phosphorite output, which can allow you to run a self-sustaining free resource loop with Floxes. Normal Bammoths can also be sheared for Reed Fiber like Dreckos, while the Regal Bammoth can be sheared for Crests, which can either be crushed onto Gold Amalgam or kept as valuable Decor sources, but require Squash Fries as food, necessitating Spigot Seals. Overall, Bammoths provide some interesting new options for sustainable base development and can adapt to non-Frosty environments quite easily.
