In this tutorial I show you how to stream and record stretched resolution in OBS Studio This allows you to stream in the standard 1920x1080 resolution with your stretched resolution gameplay. Additionally, you can also record in 1080p with the stretched resolution.
This works in popular games like Fortnite, CS2 & Valorant.
To start you will need to ensure that your resolution isn’t being rescaled through the OBS output settings. This will allow you to fit your stretched resolution gameplay to the screen easier.
You will also want to change the video settings in OBS. The easiest way to stream and record stretched resolution is to set both the base and output resolution to 1920x1080. This will keep the resolution uniform, allowing you to only make changes to your game source.
Once all of your OBS Studio settings are set correctly you can add your stretched res gameplay using a game source. While you can use display capture, the easiest method is to use game capture.
When you have your gameplay all set up you will notice that it doesn’t fit the OBS preview canvas. This can be fixed through the transform settings on the game source. These settings allow you to change the size of your source to 1920x1080, which will allow you to stream and record stretched resolution without black bars.
