Zleven here, giving you a basic explanation on how I record Psp gameplay without using custom firmware.
This advice video is not made for everyone...Yes I know that. However, if you want some decent high quality then I hope I am providing you with one of the options available as far as advice. If you don't like the advice...well then got d**n, my apologies, but I'm here to help who I can.
Keep in mind that just because you record it doenst mean you are done. You need to edit the video in your fave video editing program which means you actually have to do a bit more work....le gasp!! Yes I know it never stops. Don't worry it pays off later...
Oh! Also this method can be done even if you do have custom firmware :D.
It only works on Psp 2000s+
This method also allows you to record Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360 gameplay.

One more thing to add. If you don't care about quality to much for your Psp, Wii, Ps3, or even Xbox 360 gameplay recordings you could just go with the Easycap USB Video Capture Adapter.
It's much, much cheaper than the Hauppauge HD Pvr.
Google it for more info!! :D
If you do decide to use the EasyCap method just keep in mind I believe you have to use Composite Cables, not Component.
If you can't tell the difference just remember Component cables have 5 cables.
Composite Cables have 3. And the EasyCap method uses Composite and I think it only works for the Psp 3000!
If I'm wrong let me know!

P.s. I forgot to mention, when you are using the TotalMedia Extreme software to record you can record the Psp gameplay in Ps3 mode or Xbox mode :o
