How to Record the EVP Spots | Shadow at the Water’s Edge
15In Nancy Drew: Shadow at the Water’s Edge, Nancy must record the haunted hotspots with EVP mentioned in Savannah’s book. She gets the idea once she has read the comic about Yurei from the Pachinko parlor and reads the section in the book of the hotspots Savannah had found.
After reading the comic, reading Savannah’s book (full copy), and saw Rentaro and Miwako fight, talk to Rentaro about EVP and he will give you a recording device. Walk around to the locations below and select the recorder from your inventory. Press any numbered slot that is empty (not lit up) and press the record button at the top of the device. Wait until the recording has stopped.
1. Behind the cherry tree in the garden.
2. Fire pit in lobby.
3. Upstairs hallways (by your room - door 24).
At this point you must listen to these, since the rest will be accessible later.
4. The main bath at the poolside.
5. Inside room 33
6. The hidden bath at the poolside.
7. BONUS: The stone lantern in the garden
Change the time to after 1am, so that Rentaro will be away from the shed. Enter the shed and step to the right shelf so that Nancy can place the EVP in the player. Click on any recorded slot, then press the big play arrow button to hear it.
If any of the recordings yielded a blank audio clip, you can back away from the player, look at the EVP, select that slot, then press the delete button at the top of the recorder.
If you record and listen to 12 or more tracks, you’ll get a meta award at the end of the game.
After listening to the lantern recording, follow the clue to the main bath, and locate the broken floor tile to find your Easter egg!
