How To Remove Game Patches on PS4 and Restore Glitches: Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2)
Restore Glitches by Removing Game Patches, using Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) as an example. On the PlayStation 4, games are constantly patched by developers to remove glitches. However, some glitches are useful or fun when done. Video shows how to revert the game updates, so you can play the original version released on disc. Note that Game Saves are not affected, so you can still use your old Game Save data on version 1 (or original unpatched version the game that has the glitch). Red Dead Redemption 2 has a glitch where you can camp near Barrow Lagoon, and that allows you to go out of map. Rockstar patched this glitch by updated the game, but by following this video, you can restore the original game version by deleting the updates (game patches). Note that PS4 does not offer a standard way to remove game updates, so video shows a trick to restore the game with without the game fix software updates. Video restores version 1.00 of Red Dead Redemption 2 so you can go back out of the map. Version 1.00 of RDR2 can't load higher version saves and will give an error, but don't worry, don't try to load them and keep them there. Create a new 1.00 save just for your 1.00 version gameplay. Then when you are ready, update to latest version and your later version saves will work again, including your 1.00 saves, as they will be converted to 1.20 (whatever the latest version is). You can do this multiple times to play different version saves (latest and disc 1.00).
