I finally got around to replacing the thumbstick switches for my Quest 2 controllers and I must say, way more difficult than I expected. Last night I did the left controller and in this video I'm doing the right controller. I didn't think I had a problem with the right controller at first but I ended up finding that it's got some drift too and it's way more annoying to suddenly start turning unexpectedly than to back up or move forward all of a sudden so I turned off all my games and changed the right stick as well. Here's how I did it and I hope it helps!

01:28 remove battery cover, battery and faceplate
05:22 remove screws that hold the outer ring
10:07 remove the outer ring
13:22 remove screws that hold the handle pieces to the control pad
17:08 remove battery label and remove screws underneath
19:55 make sure you remove this screw!
21:45 remove the side shell
23:31 remove front controller shell
25:46 disconnect battery flex cable and remove the battery shell
28:11 remove the trigger
31:20 disconnect all flex cables and antenna from the main board pcb
36:50 remove main board pcb mounting screws
38:54 remove main board pcb and bad thumbstick switch
39:31 swap out the bad thumbstick switch with a new switch and main board pcb reinstalled
49:25 install main board pcb and thumbstick switch screws
52:54 reconnect main board pcb flex cables (except for battery)
55:54 reinstall battery shell and reconnect battery flex cable to main board pcb
58:08 reinstall the trigger
1:05:08 reinstall the front controller shell
1:06:13 reinstall the side shell
1:07:34 reinstall battery compartment screws
1:09:25 reinstall screws that secure handle to the control pad
1:13:11 reinstall outer ring and screws to secure it
1:18:41 reinstall wrist strap, upper thumbstick and face plate
