How to Reset Folder View in Windows 11 [Guide]

You can change the folder view settings in Windows 11 to what you want for each separate folder.

Folder view settings include the File Explorer window size, template, columns, column width, Group by, Sort by, and layout view of items in each folder, and the width size of the details, navigation, and preview pane in File Explorer.

If needed or wanted, you can reset view settings back to default for all folders or only all folders of the same template type.

Windows 11/10 is easy to use and customize, but it becomes annoying when your Folder View settings change automatically. Thankfully, there is a fix to this problem.

Microsoft gives File Explorer a lot of ways to change how files and folders are set up in the program. Over time, File Explorer starts to look different, but you can do a File Explorer reset to get it back to the way it looked when it was first installed. Learn how to reset File Explorer on your Windows PC by reading our guide.

Windows 11/10/8/7 often forgets your folder view settings, and this is when you need to reset the settings, which include the sorting order or the files, view mode, grouping, etc. All Windows versions let you customize and reset your folders. You can do so using File Explorer or by using Windows Registry. In this post we will learn how to reset your folders in Windows 10 PC.
