How to Restrict Access to Games by Rating Level on Xbox One (Turn Off Mature Games)
To restrict access to games by rating level on Xbox One, you can follow these steps:
Create a Microsoft Family Group. This will allow you to manage content restrictions for your child’s account.
Once you’ve created the child account, navigate to your Microsoft Family Group and select the account for which you want to set content restrictions1.
Open the “More Options” drop-down menu and select "Content Restrictions". Here, you can automatically block all apps and media based on age rating by setting the appropriate age for this child account1.
Under “Apps, Games, & Media”, use the “Allow Apps And Games Rated For” drop-down menu to select the age rating you find appropriate for this account1. This will apply to all content for this user across any Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, or Android device running Microsoft Launcher.
You can view more details about ratings for different kinds of media by clicking on the “View Allowed Ratings” link.
Once you set an age rating, you’ll need to manually approve any apps and games the child account tries to download that exceed the age range you’ve set1. You can grant this approval either directly through your Microsoft Family Group or through the email alert that you’ll receive whenever this child account attempts to access a restricted app or game.
