A quick Video showing how to run your CD based games.
I found some of my old Sega CD Games and decided to try and play them in RetroPie.


It's easy to get them working as long as you have a compatible CD/DVD drive.


For this Video im just using an old DVDRW out of a laptop with a SATA to USB adapter and a fresh install of RetroPie. I would recommend a Powered USB hub too, as not all drives will work without. As you will see i had to use my Laptop for power while testing.



The same method works for Beetle PSX and a couple of other Systems however you will need a 64bit version for Beetle PSX which you'll have to compile as it is no longer included in RetroPie. Also the performance of some games might not be as good as your usual ISO files.


The Thumbnail is my old Raspberry Pi 3 case sitting on the CD drive for that MegaCD look (Duct Tape Optional). I still need to convert it to fit my Pi4.
