How to Setup and Run PHP Project in Localhost Downloaded From Github [2024] @RockingSupport
1Hey there, welcome back to our channel! Today, we're going to show you how to set up and run a PHP project in localhost that you downloaded from Github. Let's get started!
Steps:
The first step is to download the project files from Github. Once you have the zip file, extract it to a folder on your computer.
Next, you'll need to set up a local server environment. We recommend using XAMPP, which includes Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Install XAMPP and start the Apache server.
Now, navigate to the folder where you extracted the project files and move them to the 'htdocs' folder in the XAMPP directory.
Open your web browser and type 'localhost' in the address bar. You should see the XAMPP dashboard. Click on 'phpMyAdmin' to create a new database for your project.
Back in the folder where you extracted the project files, look for a file named 'config.php' or 'database.php'. Open this file and update the database connection details with the credentials for the database you just created.
