Amazon is constantly making new features and functionality available through its Amazon Alexa virtual assistant. One of those additions is the ability to sync multiple calendars from other popular services with Alexa. Syncing Alexa with popular calendar services available from Google, Microsoft, and Apple gives you the ability to have Alexa check on your upcoming events, remind you about events that are coming up, move events around, and add or delete events. Syncing your Amazon Alexa device with one of the mentioned calendar services only takes a few minutes.
And now, let's walk through the steps to sync your Alexa device with one or multiple calendar services. The process is similar for all calendar services, but in this example, I'll sync my Alexa device with my Google calendar.
Step 1. Either launch the Amazon Alexa app on your mobile device, or open a web browser and navigate to www.alexa.amazon.com. Log in to your Amazon account if prompted. You'll arrive at your Amazon Alexa home screen. The directions from this point forward will be for the Amazon Alexa mobile app, but the instructions for both the mobile app and the browser app are nearly identical.
Step 2. Tap the "Menu" icon in the upper left corner of the screen. A menu flys in from the left side of the screen.
Step 3. Select "Settings" in the list of options on the left side of the screen. The Settings screen appears.
Step 4. Scroll down to the Alexa Preferences section, and then tap "Calendar" in that section. The Calendars screen appears.
Step 5. Tap the type of Calendar you want to sync with your Alexa account. You can choose from either Google Gmail or G-Suite, Outlook.com or Office 365, Apple iCloud, or Microsoft Exchange. In this example, I'll choose Google because I want to sync my Google calendar with Alexa. A Link Your Account screen appears.
Step 6. Tap the blue "Continue" button at the bottom of the Link Your Account screen. A Sign In screen appears, prompting me to enter the Gmail email address I want to sync with Alexa. Enter your Gmail email address in the Email or Phone field, and then tap "Next." The next screen will prompt you for your password. Enter your password, and then tap "Next." The next screen will inform you that Amazon Alexa wants access to your Google account.
Step 7. Tap the blue "Allow" button to give Alexa access to the calendar associated with your Google account. A Done screen will appear, informing you that Alexa is now ready to use your Google calendar.
Step 8. Tap "Done" in the upper left corner of the screen. You can now have Alexa create events on your calendar, inform you when events are coming up, and more.
