Steps:
- Start by clicking the ‘Apple logo’ in the top left corner.
- Choose ‘system preferences’ from the menu that appears.
- In system preferences choose ‘security & privacy’.
- Click ‘FileVault’ from the top menu.
- Then click the padlock icon in the bottom left to unlock the settings.
- Use touch ID or click ‘use password’ and enter your mac password.
- Click ‘unlock’.
- Read the warning and make sure that you definitely want to turn off FileVault.
- Then click ‘turn off FileVault’
- Click ‘turn off encryption’ on the popup that appears.
- FileVault will then be switched off on your Mac.
