Of course, having Google always listening for its wake word might be unsettling, especially in the privacy of your own home. If you want to permanently disable Google Assistant on Android, here's how!

1. Open Settings
2. Tap on Google
3. Tap on Settings for Google app
4. Tap on google assistant
5. Tap on Search, Assistant and voice
6. Tap on Hey Google & Voice Match.
7. Turn OFF Hey Google
8. Go to General.
9. Turn OFF Google Assistant.
10. Open Settings.
11. Search for the Assistance app.
12. Tap on the left pane Device Assistance app.
13. Select None.
