How to UNLOCK MIRROR Mode in Mario Kart World! #shorts
The Nintendo Switch 2 has now been available for just over a week—and already has a record launch. This means that fans of the brand have also been racing Mario Kart World for just over a week, unlocking rewards (characters, for example). And very quickly, some have highlighted the existence of a mirror mode.
However, there is confusion over how to access Mario Kart World's mirror mode. Online, you can read all sorts of information about the requirements for unlocking the reverse races. Some believe that you simply need to complete the Grand Prix on the 150cc difficulty (by obtaining three stars!), while others believe that you need to collect specific items or complete several missions while roaming. Nintendo has finally revealed the foolproof method.
In an email sent to players, notably shared by NintendHome on June 12, 2025 on X, Nintendo explains what to do to unlock Mirror Mode—which is present, unlike 200cc mode.
The players must:
Find 10 panels marked with a question mark;
Find 10 Peach Medals;
Complete 10 P Switch missions;
Complete each 150cc and Rally Cup (without needing to finish first).
It's worth noting that Mario Kart World requires driving in both classic races (Grand Prix) and the open world (Stroll), not to mention Survival Mode. This highlights all the strengths of this Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.
Much appreciated by fans of the Mario Kart saga, mirror mode reverses the tracks horizontally: meaning that what's usually on the left is now on the right (and vice versa), with the turns leading the way. This artificially doubles the number of circuits and forces players to learn new reflexes. This feature can be tricky when you consider that muscle memory can play tricks on you, especially in the rush of winning a race.
