This game is an old one, but a classic. Using my PS2 type controller, I was able to get this game working with my controller within 10 minutes, but I had to do some config on the fly to make the analog work properly.

I suspect that if you have a xbox 360 game controller, install the Microsoft Drivers, and it should be detected in the game as a regular game controller. Enjoy!
