HP Pavillion ZD8000 arrival
7been waiting for this. i know about the reports of the video card and screen messing up. but that's because they blocked the fans. if you let it breathe, it won't suffocate under it's own breath. lift the back up or get a cooling pad.
why they would stick a desktop p4 cpu into a laptop, i'll never know. they did the same for the alienware. but that seems to have good cooling. not to mention easy cpu access. just lift one cover and the heatsink and there you go. upgrade it to your pleasure. but with the ZD8000, you have to take the whole thing apart and get to the bottom of the motherboard...very annoying. i wanted to put a 3.2ghz processor in it, but i don't want to risk anything by opening it all up. so i'll just leave it as is. 2.8ghz is a considerable speed after all.
