If you want to reset the app preferences on your htc one m8 due to constant app notifications or auto syncing you first need to go into the settings. Then scroll down to apps and once you are in apps click the options tab in the top right, and an option that says reset app preferences will appear. Next click reset app preferences and a note will pull up explaining to you what resetting this will do, and the key thing here is that it tells you that you will not lose any app data. Once you click okay your app preferences will reset on your htc one m8 and you will be all set.
