This shows what a video recording looks like using the HTC One's camera outside at night (for HTC One that has the camera problem). Notice the pink and purple tint shows up very prominently on cameras with this problem. I think the feature that allows the camera to brighten nighttime images is broken, and what happens is that instead of brightening up the scene, it is only increasing the red portions.
