21The Shogun - This fight is tough! First thing's first here, you can fall off the roof and instantly die. The boss fight will be in two different phases. The boss will also spawn thugs throughout this fight so make sure to target them when you can. The boss will start off immediately flying to the background. You will see small hatches in the floor open up with thugs coming out of each one. The thugs will appear right, center, and left. Your best bet is to run to the closest side you're on and immediately kick a thug off the roof. Then throw everything you have at the other team while crouching behind one of the hatches. The boss will fly across the background and light up the roof with a machine gun. Crouching behind those hatches will keep you safe. He'll then reappear on the roof. He'll land on the further side. If you're close, he'll swing his sword at you. Regardless, he won't stay on the roof for long. He'll fly away quickly and launch some drones. He'll then reappear on the far side of the roof and stay there. This is your chance to attack. Again, if you get close, he'll swing his swords. The drones will do one of two things. They will always alternate every time you reach the drone section of the fight.
The drones will first swing down along the floor and you have to jump over them. They'll then slam on the floor and slide across the floor towards you. You'll have to time your jumps to avoid them as they fly by and grind along the floor at the same time.
The drones could also move side to side slowly lowering before they hit the floor and then grind along the floor. You can crouch under them at their lowest height and jump over them as they grind along the floor. This is the best chance to attack so lay into him early by crouching!
After the drones are done, he'll slam his sword on the ground and walk toward you. The sword will act as a shield but you can jump and still deal damage by attacking his hands. He'll push close to the edge of the roof. He'll wind up and swing his sword. Don't let this sword swing hit you or it'll launch you off the roof, killing you instantly! Wait a second when you see him wind up before jumping. The first time, he won't even push the edge of the roof but the rest of the fight he will. Depending how much health he has, he'll swing either once, twice, or three times so stay on your toes! After you completely deplete his life pool, you'll get a cutscene and enter the second phase!
The start of this phase is actually a checkpoint, which is fortunate because the first half is tough! The boss will jump around and try to slash you with his swords. If you're on a further platform at the same level, he can dash towards you. He'll pull his sword back before doing it as a tell. He will also do the same thing if you are on a higher platform but not if you are on a lower platform. There's a blaster and lil' pounder to the far right. Grab these as they'll deal a lot of damage! Try to hit him with your throwables and just keep running away. If you have a chance to shoot at him as he's landing, take a quick shot. This fight should be played very defensively. The weapons you can pick up deal enough damage that you should be able to kill him with just those. Just focus on staying alive and landing your shots when safe. The boss will also teleport a lot, especially towards the end of the fight. When he disappears, keep moving because he will always reappear right next to you! Every third health of damage you deal, rocks will start flying from below and straight upwards. You have to avoid these. The best tip for this is to stay on the highest platforms over a lower platform. Every time the stones hit a platform, they'll slow down. This will give you the most time possible to avoid the stones. The second time you deal with this, the stones will appear at a much higher rate so stay on your toes! They also like to target you more so keep moving as well. Just stay defensive and land your shots with your high-powered weapons until you defeat him, completing the game!
