BTS is one of many stars suddenly affected by the drug scandal that is shaking the Korean entertainment industry today.
Recently, Korean media reported on rumors that BTS members are regular customers of an adult entertainment business in Gangnam. This is where King Lee Sun Gyun and singer G-Dragon often visit, and both are currently being investigated by the police for using illegal drugs.
Immediately, BigHit Music - a company under HYBE - made a strong statement regarding the famous boy band: "BTS is completely unrelated to these rumors and they are completely untrue. They are I will take strong action against those who spread rumors recklessly."
Accordingly, the adult entertainment business mentioned in this scandal is said to have alcohol prices set at 10 million Won. Lee Sun Gyun and G-Dragon were arrested by the police after the head of the business gave testimony about the two stars' drug use.
Rumors about some BTS members being regular customers of this establishment also spread, affecting the boys' image and reputation.
BTS fans also released a statement denying the rumors, asserting, "We will take all possible legal measures, including criminal charges and civil compensation, without any any leniency or tolerance towards the spread of false information and defamation".
In addition to BTS, many other stars were also named in the drug use scandal and had to immediately deny it, including Chaewon LE SSERAFIM and Soyeon (G)I-DLE.
