[Hyper Talks] Zoë Jellicoe: Being and play-in-the-world as digital space
Using Heidegger's experience of subject-object relations as a springboard this talk will explore how players interact with digital objects and environments in everything from slow-paced survival horror to absurd surrealist puzzle games.

From Many Places
Zoë Jellicoe is an editor, journalist and writer, and usually involved in a few other things. She recently published Critical Hits: An Indie Gaming Anthology, a collection of essays from ten video game journalists and developers exploring topics in independent games ranging from spatial design and existential fear, the digitisation of female care, procedural generation and the representation of dating through text-based mechanics. When not working with words Zoë runs events and collaborates on projects. She recently relocated to Berlin after time in Dublin, Brussels, Vevey, Rome, Miami and London.
Hyper Talks are short and fun 5 minute knowledge-injections. Ten speakers will talk about projects, experiences, failures and sources of inspiration in their work. The Hyper Talks are a platform for both established artists as well as upcoming talents: some of the past hypers speakers ended up being winners of the A MAZE. Awards. The session is hosted by A MAZE. / Berlin program manager Lorenzo Pilia.
